Khao Takiab Temple and view point
Khao Takiab or "Chopstick Mount" is a large mount sticking out of the sea. It is located south of the town of Hua Hin. The visit to the hill and temple is made easy by the construction of a road which goes up and down one way. The Khao Takiab Hill is 272m high. From there you are offered the incredibly picturesque panorama of Hua Hin coast.
Phra Pathom Chedi
On coming towards the city, the first glimpse of towering Phra Pathom Chedi is overpowering. It is one of the largest Chedis in the world and
in Thailand , by far the most holy of all Buddhist structures. Reaching to the sky for just half an inch less than 380 feet, the dome shines like
pure gold in sunlight.
Wat Mahathat Worawihan
Distance approx 45 km. This ancient temple is on the west bank of Petchburi river, the attraction here is the brick and cement Five-Pinnacle stupa, molded status in the royal Vihara and Ubosoths. The superior
skill of the Petchburi craftsman is rarely matched and status are caricatures of the world politics in each period.
The Wat Yai Suwannaram Temple
Distance approx 45 km. Another important temple in the town, Wat Yai Suwannaram is situated 1 kilometer east of the city hall. The temple, featuring a windowless main shrine hall, houses magnificent 300-year-old murals of mythical angels. Its Sala Kanprian (multi-purpose hall) which was once located in Ayutthaya 's Grand Palace , was entirely built of teakwood and decorated with fine woodwork especially at the door panels.
There is also a preaching throne with magnificently elaborated Bangkok style woodcarvings and gold gilt works located in the hall.
Wat Kam Pang Lang
The cave is located approximately five kilometers from Khao Wang.
Smaller in size, the cave is regarded as the largest and most important
in the province. This is due to the fact that it houses a Buddha image cast under the royal command of King Rama V as a dedication to King Rama III and King Rama IV. At the foot of Khao Luang Hill, a large monastery locally known as Wat Tham Klaep or Wat Bun-thawi is located. Attractions within the compound are a large multi-purpose hall and a chapel laden with beautifully carved door panels.
Wat Huay Mong Kol
“Wat Huay Mong Kol” is a Buddhist monastery where the world largest sculpture like of His Reverend Luang Poh Tuad is situated. The event which has long been most respectful and well known by people in Southern Thailand “Luang Pho Tuad” is the supernatural power,
(Stepping on sea water which subsequently turned to be fresh water).
In addition, at this Temple, there is a wood carving image of
Luang Pho Tuad made out of a large aging iron wood imbedded ore than 10 meters underneath sand basin of Yom River in Phrae Province over
one thousand years ago.
Wat Tham Khao Yoi
This cave is located on Khao Yoi Hill, Amphoe Khao Yoi, 22 kilometers from the township. Buddha images of various attitudes are housed in the cave. Khao Yoi Cave was the place where King Mongkut practiced meditation while he was in the monk hood.
